# Tallyhook > Tallyhook tracks what Claude Code and Codex cost per repo, team and developer across a small team, with budgets, cost-spike alerts and a month-end forecast, and can turn it into invoice lines with your markup when you bill it to a client. One command per laptop; only session metadata is uploaded. Tallyhook answers "what did Claude Code and Codex actually cost, and what for?" for software teams of roughly 2 to 50 developers. Two uses of the same ledger: agencies and consultancies bill the cost back to the client it belongs to, and in-house engineering teams use it to see which repo or team is spending and whether that is accelerating. A dependency-free collector on each developer's machine reads the session logs the agents already write, uploads metadata only (never code or transcripts), and the web app attributes every session to a repo by its git remote, prices it at public list rates including prompt-cache reads and writes, and produces invoice lines with markup. Key facts: - Supports: Claude Code and Codex CLI. Platforms: macOS or Linux with Node.js 18+. Cursor is not supported yet. - Pricing: Team $49/month for up to 5 developers; Agency $149/month for up to 20 developers; extra developers on Agency $7/month each, up to 500 in total. Members who don't run the collector are free (up to 50 per workspace). 14-day free trial covering the plan you are trying (5 developers on Team, 20 on Agency, switchable free during the trial), no card. - Install: `curl -fsSL https://tallyhook.dev/install.sh | sh -s -- ` (token from the app's Install page). One command per laptop. Equivalent with npm: `npx tallyhook install `. - Differs from vendor dashboards (Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor): those report per user and per model; Tallyhook reports per client and per repo and outputs invoice lines. - Differs from ccusage: ccusage is a single-machine CLI; Tallyhook is the team layer with client attribution, cost-spike alerts, per-client monthly budgets, client report links and invoicing. - Free local report, no account and nothing uploaded: `npx tallyhook report` prints list-price cost per repo for the last 30 days on that machine. - Open source: the collector is MIT-licensed, source at https://github.com/tallyhook/tallyhook-collector, published on npm as `tallyhook` (https://www.npmjs.com/package/tallyhook). The hosted web app is not open source. - Live demo, no account needed: https://tallyhook.dev/demo (sample data for a five-developer agency). - Contact: support@tallyhook.dev ## Use cases - [For agencies](https://tallyhook.dev/agencies): Bill AI coding-agent usage back to clients: cost per client, markup, printable invoices and read-only client report links. - [For engineering teams](https://tallyhook.dev/teams): See what Claude Code and Codex cost your own team, by repo and by team, with alerts when one session runs away. ## Product - [What did it cost to build?](https://tallyhook.dev/card): Turn the free local report into a shareable card showing what a project cost in AI coding-agent time.
